Now that we know how to view and access different services within SCP, next step is to create the ABAP Service Instance.

1.Let us begin where we had stopped. Click on “ABAP Trial”.
2. Once a new screen opens, focus on the “Instances” button and click it.
3. Click on “New Instance”.

4. Follow the sequence as shown below:
5. Click on “/test_instance” and get this:
6. Provide the name “abap_cloud_key”
7. Should be able to see the below:

8. Copy the entire created key details to a Text file and save in local drive.
One important aspect of SAP Cloud Platform ABAP environment is the usage of Cloud Foundry (CF) Technology ( we have another article which focuses on the difference between Neo and CF 🙂 ) using cloud infrastructure providers like GCP, AWS etc. If you have worked in Cloud Connector to connect HANA Trial Web IDE to back end SAP System, you need to use Neo. But for ABAP on Cloud, we will use Cloud Foundry and give more information in coming articles.
The advantage with CF is that we can use it for integration of external API with SAP systems and services.
We shall stop in this article here and know more about ABAP on Cloud in upcoming follow up articles.
